It Won't Act Right
The original version was recorded by the Memphis Jug Band on May 21, 1930 in Memphis, with Will Shade on guitar and lead vocal, Charlie Burse on guitar and vocal, Ben Ramey on kazoo and vocal, Charlie Nickerson on vocal and Hambone Lewis on jug.
Will Shade plays a simple rhythm guitar part based on the E and E7 chord shapes, while Burse's part is even simpler, with no picked bass notes.
Hambone Lewis makes up for the lack of guitar bass notes with his jug part, which includes a riff at the end of each verse, and some improvisation during the two solo sections.
This version is available for purchase on the Golden Harvest album.
